Conversazione is an annual exhibition on the wonders of the natural world and features displays many aspects of natural history, with displays from individual local naturalists and the work of local organisations.
For over a 100 years, Cambridge Natural History Society has organised an annual exhibition, with displays from its members, local natural history organisations and others, which it calls the Conversazione. The word Conversazione comes from the Italian and is roughly translated as ‘a conversation’ or ‘a talking place’. It has been used by scientific societies to describe their annual social exhibitions. The Conversazione is more than an exhibition relating to natural history as it is also a social event, enabling participants to talk to exhibitors – and to each other – about the displays.
